Forgotten games: Return of Donkey Kong!

 Hi Nes enthusiasts!
We always love to recover something that was previously object of investigation and that's the case.
We were digging around for some informations like everynight and suddenly came to our mind that we talked about Power Glove's cancelled games that never saw the ligh.! What "cancelled" means?
For some reason, they never manage to get on the shelves, many of them got blocked before going into production facilities, others got publisher or licensing issues.
Some of the upcoming (for that time) titles were renamed and sold on the market with a different name (for example: Trolls in Crazyland was previously settled for a release under the name of Crazy Land, trolls were added later in the name and as a characters in the game) but the most of them were unreleased and forgotten by many.
Usually collector's world is used to be aware of those unreleased games because prototype carts of them are floating around since middle of the '90s but today we want to uncover a really hard to remember one, we bet many of you never heard about it!

Return of Donkey Kong

Uh? what? Yeah, exactly! That is the kind of reaction of a Donkey's fan who hear this name! This title was announced back in 1986 as a sequel of Donkey Kong 3 and this time (and for the very first time) the player would have the control of Donkey Kong, probably because of the (very bad) numbers of DK3 units sold with his new gameplay style and new starring character.
All we know about the game is what comes written inside the "order forms" from Nintendo, or written in the Nintendo Fun Club and Nintendo Power's pages.
Has anyone ever asked Miyamoto what happen to this "Nes exclusive" donkey title and a sequel being part of a great installment like the Donkey Kong series? We know it was an exclusive title and wasn't settled for an arcade release too because in the "order forms" the name was under the "action series" (Same category of Super Mario Bros.) and not under "arcade classic series", which was full of arcade ports.

So what about the game itself?
What about the categories in the order forms?
What A, B, BBB, BB, B, C, D(?) means?
TBD, for Return of Donkey Kong means To Be Defined?

We don't think Nintendo will ever explain or share information and media related... let's dream about it and keep playing the amazing released Donkey's games for the Nes.

Stay tuned for the next special by Tales from the Nes!
